Becoming Men of Service
Our May Mens MeetUp discussed maintenance needs around Grace Chapel and how Men of Grace could become Men of Service. A great starter project may be the chapel we meet in each month. It is in need of a fresh coat of paint and chair rails to protect the finish on the walls. The doors into the Chapel also are in need of adjustment in order to close properly when privacy is needed.
It is great to focus on work that complements the larger projects being done around Grace, including the roof and heat pumps. This is an opportunity for men to fellowship with a purpose and reach out across generations interested in learning and applying skills for God's kingdom!
Seaside Adventure
Following our discussions, a number of men headed out to historic Peggy's Cove, for some great scenery and lobster chowder. Little did we know we would experience some authentic downeast weather on the way. Thunderstorms turned into rain, dense fog and bright sunshine - all within the space of an hour!
Building on Solid Rock
We learned a great lesson. Make sure you build your house on rock and not sand! Though storms may come and break against the house, work that is built on rock will stand the test!
And oh yeah, the lobster chowder was great as well! We had a wonderful Christian waitress who added a great sense of hospitality and grace to our visit.
